Golds Fall Linked to Currencies

Since quantitative easing became Chairman of the US Ben Bernanke's long term policy the US and other western stock markets have prospered, with the dark days of 2008 now almost giving way to the highs experienced in 2007 just before the bust.

Spot gold started the week trading up $5.00 at $1715.00 an oz. in early Eastern trading before falling through $1800 resistance before the European open and continuing its descent when the US market opened.

Gold Going Nowhere

This morning’s trading in Europe saw spot gold falling back to around $1180 where it had languished for most of Thursday. Right now it looks as if gold, with silver, is going nowhere as fears of a second recession mount, worldwide stock markets fall heavily, and the flight to liquidity gathers pace.
