(ESI) has validated the ability of its Enzyme Linked Lectin Specific Assay (ELLSA) to identify the presence of exosomes underlying the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), tuberculosis (TB), and various forms of cancer, including ovarian, melanoma, lymphoma, and colorectal. In July 2010, ESI disclosed that it filed a patent relating to the development of an assay that would allow researchers to detect exosomes in blood and other fluids.
