While most investors chase mid to large cap names in the Americas, Africa remains the final frontier for gold mining stocks based on a number of factors. Political risk in North Africa, rumblings about nationalization in South Africa, and the stability or lack thereof in Zimbabwe and Somalia can be enough to give many investors pause.

Lindsay Corporation (NYSE:LNN) reported results for its fiscal second quarter ended February 28, 2011. Second quarter fiscal 2011 revenues of $120.2 million increased 41 percent from $85.2 million in the same prior year period. Net earnings were $11.3 million or $0.89 per diluted share compared with $6.0 million or $0.48 per diluted share, in the prior fiscal year’s second quarter.
