Ligand Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq:LGND) announced that it has entered into a global licensing agreement with Chiva Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for Fablyn (lasofoxifene), a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that was approved in the EU in 2009 for the treatment of osteoporosis in post-menopausal women at increased risk of fracture.

Western Refining, Inc. (NYSE:WNR) reported the successful completion of an amendment and extension of its revolving credit agreement, thereby extending the maturity of certain revolver commitments, reducing interest expense, eliminating financial maintenance covenants, and providing additional borrowing base availability.
