Should Verizon Acquire Netflix?

The rumors that Verizon (NYSE: VZ) will attempt to acquire Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) have begun. But is it a worthwhile investment or a colossal mistake?

On its third quarter fiscal 2011, GOOG posted revenues of $9.72 billion, a 33% increase year over year.

GOOG's GAAP net income in the third quarter of 2011 was $2.73 billion, compared to $2.17 billion in the same period prior year.

What: Shares of embattled photography company Eastman Kodak (NYSE: EK) plummeted 24% on Monday after borrowing $160 million against its credit line for "general corporate purposes."

Yesterday was an epic, game-changing day for Google (GOOG:NASDAQ). It alters the landscape in the smartphone industry. In one expensive move, Google made its first foray into proprietary hardware territory. The move was another kick in the head for top competitor Research In Motion (RIMM:NASDAQ).

Continuing its quest for shale natural gas assets, BHP Billiton Limited plans to acquire Petrohawk Energy Corporation (HK) for more than $12 billion dollars or $38.75 per share in cash.
