Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) reported that the board of directors has established a record date for its 2012 annual meeting of stockholders. HP stockholders of record at the close of business on Jan. 23, 2012, will be entitled to notice of the annual meeting and to vote upon matters considered at the meeting.

** The board of directors of HPQ has appointed Meg Whitman as president and chief executive officer. According to HPQ, Meg Whitman has the skills and abilities to deliver improved execution and financial performance.

** HPQ was downgraded to Neutral from Outperform at RW Baird, to Underperform from Buy at Needham, to Neutral from Buy at Sterne Agee and to Sell from Hold at Deutsche Bank.
