Companies with a strong increase in dividends judge the future of their company rosy and they want to give money back to shareholders that they don’t need for their business.

In total, the 50 fastest dividend growth companies realized an average dividend growth of 56.77 percent. The average dividend yield of the stocks amounts to 3.55 percent. The P/E ratio is 21.68, P/B 1.98 and P/S finally 9.38.

If you were to sum up the key theme emerging from second quarter earnings season with one phrase, it'd have to be: "It's the revenue, stupid!"

That's because compared to earnings, which have been seen 72% of companies beating consensus, the sales side has been a huge disappointment.

NIKE's Margins Fail to Impress Investors

Although the company's earnings look strong and the management's outlook remains positive, investors were not thrilled and the stock is trading 3% lower on today's trading session. This selloff brought NIKE down to test its 50-day moving average on a heavy volume, but the stock has been able to hold above this key technical level.

NIKE, Inc (NYSE:NKE) is engaged in design, development and marketing of footwear, apparel, equipment and accessory products. NIKE, Inc achieved its new 52 week high price of $104.15 where it was opened at $101.45 up 1.28 points or +1.25% by closing at $103.39. NKE transacted shares during the day were over 2.97 million shares however it has an average volume of 2.41 million shares.

Retail Under Early Pressure

Most of the leading retail stocks are coming under early selling pressure. The Market Vectors Retail ETF (NYSEARCA:RTH) is trading lower by $1.31 to $116.25 a share. This tells us that the majority of leading retail stocks are declining at the start of the day. Traders can watch for intra-day support around the $115.50, and $114.25 levels.
