Stock Selection - Tools and Rules

The objective of the exercise is to have cash available for buying during every downturn --- can't happen unless you have the courage to take profits when prices are rising. Yes, you are expected to feel stupid in both exercises. When you feel like you "sold too soon", the bubble buster is just around the corner.

Stocks are trading higher overnight and the Dollar is trading mixed. Without any major U.S. economic reports this morning and the Fed meeting on Tuesday, trading could be light and directionless today. On the other hand, sometimes thin trading conditions trigger wild swings so investors should be on their toes so as to not get caught on the wrong side of the market.

Shorts Regain Control of Euro

Bearish short traders are slowly regaining control of the EUR USD overnight. On Friday weaker shorts bailed out of the Euro after Greece announced that it was going to formally announce to the European Union and the International Monetary Fund that it needed to trigger the loan mechanism built into the recent loan bailout proposal.

Monsanto had a big day on earnings news and people were clamoring to jump on board. Donald Rumsfeld along with four Bush cabinet members with MON ties were also smiling. Prime example of a dangerous Wall Street philosophy: "Hey, we're making tons of money so we don't care about the consequences of what we're doing.

Thankfully someone who was completely VOID of any stock market knowledge has given me an idea to pen a piece that I think is very important for those of you who are actually serious about becoming a professional active investor. There is really nothing I can say about the market today that would mean or change anything from two-days ago.

I will try to get back here and right an intelligenct report on today’s stock market action. But it can basically can be summed up as “we are biding our time.” We are still simply waiting to see which direction volume is going to come in. If it is for the bulls, we are going to have a great time as we have a lot of very pretty charts now setting up.
