My Best Technology Stock Picks For 2013

Posted by Dividend on December 6th, 2012

Every time, I am searching for the best investment opportunities at the market. The year goes by and I have to consider ideas for the next year. Today, I like to focus on technology, a field that is very underweighted in my private portfolio. I am looking for growth stocks with cheap price ratios and high-quality margins. That’s why I screened the technology sector by stocks with a forward P/E ratio of less than 15, a sales growth over the past five years of more than 10 percent as well as an operating margin above 10 percent. In order to exclude low capitalized stocks, the market capitalization should be over USD 10 billion.

Exactly thirteen stocks fulfilled these criteria of which nine technology stocks pay dividends – Eight have a buy or better recommendation.

The best equity investment is a stock with good fundamentals and a convincing equity story. If this stock is also attractive valuated it could promise good returns. I’ve tried to summarize some significant fundamentals in order to screen the whole capital markets by interesting dividend stocks. Every month, I create a quick dividend list (from low-yield to high-yield paying stocks) of stocks with interesting performance and valuation figures. Stocks from that list are mid- and large caps (market capitalization of more than USD 1 billion) with double-digit long-term earnings growth rates. The companies are traded at AMEX, NYSE, NASDAQ and part of the Dow Jones, S&P 500 or Nasdaq Composite. The list is selected by the following criteria and sorted by dividend yield.

This morning, all of the leading Chinese ADR's are coming under sharp selling pressure. Sohu.com Inc (NASDAQ:SOHU); a leading the Chinese ADR, is trading down $9.43 to $53.62 a share. The company reported earning that were well below analyst expectations. Many investors are now thinking that other leading Chinese ADR's will report weaker than expected earnings going forward.

As if you needed more reasons to go long Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL).

According to a report from Forbes, China Mobile (NYSE: CHL) may be indeed getting the Apple iPhone, at least if you believe Chinese newspapers.
