What Is a Bear Market?

A Bear market is a term given to describe a downward market trend. This is a condition where securities are declining and there is a widespread of pessimism. Investors have a negative view of the markets and continue to sell, making the market go down further. This leads to more pessimism and fear of loss, causing more investors to sell, thus creating a vicious cycle.

Many new investors are easily overwhelmed by the sheer volume of stocks that are traded on the market each day. It can seem impossible to be able to keep track of what’s going on with the whole market, especially when you realize that there are major markets in just about every developed country in the world.

This year has been a very exiting time for traders and investors. We have seen a steady climb in prices with controlled pullbacks in the broad market and gold.
