The health care industry encompasses pharmaceuticals, medical devices, medical equipment, insurers, hospitals and long term care facilities. Each offers its own unique investment opportunities and challenges. Since the new health care reform bill was passed earlier this year, the questions surrounding the impact to both the consumer and businesses, remain a constant debate.

KB Home (NYSE: KBH) reported net income of $1.31 per diluted share, in the fourth quarter of 2009. In the fourth quarter of 2008, the Company reported a net loss of $3.96 per diluted share. analysts average -$0.42. KBH beats by $1.73.

Net income were $100.7 million compared with a net loss of $307.3 million last year.

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) announced diluted earnings per share were $1.20, representing increases 2.6%, as compared to the same period in 2008 of $1.17. Analysts average 1.13. JNJ beats by $0.07.

Net earnings for the third quarter of 2009 were $3.3 billion representing an increase of 1.1% as compared to the same period in 2008.
