News Corp. (NWS:NYSE) Shares are up the pre-market after being beaten up in prior days due to the hacked voice mail scandal. Some of the talking heads are starting to talk about NWS being a value play near these levels, but there is just too much headline risk to play from the long side.

Proposed Yahoo-News Corp. Deal

According to The Wall Street Journal, News Corp. and Yahoo are in talks about combining MySpace and other News Corp.-owned online properties with Yahoo, in a move aimed at fending off Microsoft's takeover bid.
