Recent catalysts for bullish sentiment in Q3 07 have been takeover speculation, stock buyback announcements, and earnings growth. At the onset of the Q2 earnings season investors speculated two Dow Jones stocks might be bought out, VZ and AA. Even though these storied rumors may have been found in BN and FT, there is still no substance them. GE announced it doubled its stock buyback program on July 12.
