The FTSE is currently indicating a higher open as traders anticipate the release of the minutes from the last meeting of the BOE. Analysts are hoping for a dovish report, which could give hope to rate cuts later this year. It seems like traders are putting their money on a dovish report, as the FTSE currently indicating a gain of 29 points.
Commodities rebounded yesterday after receiving negative US economic news concerning house prices and inflation hurting the US dollar. Gold rebounded recently after a 52 week low trading the past 7 days. Gold is now trading above the 800 dollars per ounce level, presently trading at $816. We can see some further weakness in the US dollar which should push gold closer to $850 by the end of the week.
