A-Power Energy Generation Systems, Ltd. (APWR) Announces Initial Sales Contract for 2.7MW Wind Turbines
A-Power Energy Generation Systems, Ltd. (APWR), China’s largest provider of distributed power systems and a recent entrant into China’s wind energy market, this morning announced that it has signed a sales contract with China National Control System Corp. (“CACS”) for five 2.7-MW wind turbines for delivery during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2008.

Satcon (SATC) Increases Delivery for Solar Power Grid
Satcon’s PowerGate Plus 500 kW commercial solar photovoltaic inverters will provide 20MW for the European utility, Energy 21. Installations for large-scale plants in the Czech Republic and Slovakia are set to begin in Oct. 2008 and continue through the spring of 2009. The move is part of a new agreement with CE Solar, the project development arm of Energy 21.

A-Power Energy Generation Systems, Ltd. (APWR), a provider of distributed power generation systems and wind turbines in China, reported second quarter financial results this morning before the open. Revenues increased 21.5% to $65.7 million, compared to $54.1 million for the same period in 2007. Net income increased 3.9% to $6.2 million, compared to $6.0 million.
