House Democrats balanced $18 billion worth of renewable energy tax credits with cutbacks in tax breaks for big oil. Both Republicans in the Senate and the Bush Administration oppose the bill. The current tax credits for renewable energy expire on Dec 31 2008. Will they be renewed in time, especially in an election year?
