GT Solar International Inc. (SOLR), a U.S. manufacturer of equipment used in the production of photovoltaic cells, announced first quarter 2009 financial results today after the close. Revenues rose to $57.1 million, an increase of 272% year-over-year compared to $15.4 million.

Visa Set To Go Public: Largest in History?
It has been awhile since we have heard anything about the Visa IPO. In the Wall Street Journal this morning, there was an article about credit-card processing giant Visa. Visa plans to sell as much as $17 billion in stock, which would make it the biggest IPO in U.S. history.
The SPAC Game
SPAC's, or Special Purpose Acquisition Companies, are set up for the purpose of making one big acquisition within a finite period using an IPO, an offer which mostly involves only insiders and hedge funds in the initial stage, and hardly any ordinary investors.
