Here are The Dean’s Stocks to Watch for April 16: $AKRX, $CYCC, $JMBA, $RTK, $LOGC

Akorn, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKRX). Shares climbed as much 25% yesterday on news the company received FDA approval for their generic version of Dilaudid-HP injection.

Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: CYCC). $CYCC has seen a lot of trading activity this week, moving up about 10% since last Friday’s close. The Dean thinks $CYCC could see some more activity moving into tomorrow, as the company will be attending the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) meeting, which starts this weekend.

Jamba, Inc. (NASDAQ: JMBA). This week has been quite eventful for $JMBA, making two additions to its management team, launching a line of apparel with Headline Entertainment, and the celebration of 20 years and more than 730 locations. Yesterday, $JMBA closed the day up 13%, after hitting a new 52-week high of $3.45 earlier in trading.

Rentech, Inc. (AMEX: RTK). $RTK also had an eventful week, releasing a steady stream of news and maintaining an upward trend to yesterday’s close of $1.16, gaining as much as 18% since last Friday. Yesterday morning, ClearFuels Technology announced a “cooperative agreement” with the US Department of Energy to receive its first $7.7 million of a $22.6 million grant to construct its biomass gasifier at $RTK’s energy technology center.

Logic Devices Incorporated (NASDAQ: LOGC) hasn’t seen news since the beginning of February, this thinly traded NASDAQ stock traded nearly 5 times its 3 months average volume yesterday. Although there are no guarantees in trading stocks, The Dean suggests his students do their homework and keep an eye on this one.
