Oncothyreon Inc. (Nasdaq:ONTY) reported financial results for the second quarter ending June 30, 2011. Net loss from operations increased to $5.8 million in the second quarter of 2011 from $4.7 million in the second quarter of 2010, and to $11.7 million for the six months ended June 30, 2011 compared to $10.2 million for the comparable period in 2010. This increase in net loss from operations for the three and six months ended June 30, 2011 compared to prior year periods was primarily the result of increased research and development expenses offset in part by a decrease in general and administrative expenses.
